The first of herbert's book I read. I was about 13 - it gave me bad dreams and made me sweat when taking the tube for months. For that reason I would say it was one of my favorites as it set me on the path of being a real James Herbert fan!

this book had some good parts, was really gory, certain bits made me cringe, but overall it was ok. the end for me was a bit of a let down, the book didnt really build up to anything. like his style of writing though.

This is the first of his books i have read, and really liked the idea off the shift of power between rats and humans, they truly do get their own back on us. However just as it started to get juicy adn bulid up to a rather big croscendo at the end, i didnt like the way he finished of this book, it was weird in a silly way, and thought it could have ended better, slightly more gripping perhaps. hope the next one i am gonna read The Dark is better. wish me luck !!
