I actually liked The Illustrated Man more than this. Since this is longer, there are more stories, and it's a lot less consistent than Illustrated Man. The stories in this collection are also more cerebral and "normal" than Illustrated Man, which had thoroughly fantastic elements in them. However, this does have some of Bradbury's greatest stories. I was particularly blown away by the "Einar" stories, "Uncle Einar" and "Homecoming". The ending to "The Emissary" also gave me a good chill. I recommend this.

I'm not liking the sexest tones of this book. The women are sappy and weak and subservient.

I first read this collection back in high school, and it started me on the rest of Bradbury. After rereading it, I can safely say it still remains at the top of my favorites list!

Probably Bradbury's best collection of independent short stories.

The first Bradbury collection I read. The Emissary still gives me chills.
