seem like non-fiction. Reads like a comedy of a real person. It is a well loved, and F*ed up enough that Robin Williams acted this character when he was young.

This is one of my all-time favorites...I have 3 copies, and have read this book about a dozen times. I am an enormous fan of John Irving, but this is by far my favorite. My one paperback copy has pages falling out from overuse.

Great book, with an inticing story. The book is dark and sickly discriptive so if you dont like that kind of dtory then this is not the book for you. Its a long read so if you want a great dark story to keep you entertained for awhile this is the book!

I picked up the book from a section called Literary Fiction. I don't know why I fell for the obvious trap: An interesting cover and a title that led one to believe it would be an out and out sarcasm fest, or at least be a cynic's eye view of the world. The book took me long to read, again, because parts of it just failed to hold my attention. It has its moments, but sporadic. Though, I would admit it did make me read the entire book, waiting for the spark of extraordinary brilliance. But, as perhaps the author would say, to me it was like you faked an orgasm so much that you forgot what a real one feels like.

A crazy read. Each chapter gives a shock to the reader. Thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and made look at other John Irving novels.
