This is the very first book I read of hers. I think it is one of the very best books i have ever read. If you like witches and magic read it and Lasher. Great Books!!!

I really liked the book until the last chapter or two. I suppose it will be better if/when I read the other two books in the series.

Ooooh right up my alley, I loved this book so much (the sequels were good but didn't captivate me like the first book)...I loved the main character (Rowan) and related to how she floated through life, unhappy but not unbearably so, until things started to happen...

Lots of detail. Anne Rice creates a complicated family history. At almost 1,000 pages this is a book best read when you have some time to devote reading so that the storyline stays fresh in your mind.
