SEP field:The letters stand for "Somebody else's problem". And the idea is that if you want to stay out of sight you surround yourself with an SEP field. That way when the party from which you wish to be hidden looks your way, they won't see you really. Well, they'll likely see you but their minds instantly assert "that's somebody else's problem" and they look beyond you or through you, effectively not seeing you.

This was an improvement from "Restaurant." Maybe it was because it had an actual story with an actual beginning and end. Adams' humor comes out more than the previous book. Bistromathics is one of his funniest concepts. It was good to see the main characters together again. They really make the series enjoyable.

dopo aver letto il primo dei tre, che si lascia leggere...gli altri due mi son sembrati piuttosto uguali, sempre un pò confusionari e strambi. nell'insieme più che la vera e propria storia si apprezza l'incredibile e "velocissima" fantasia dell'autore!! :)

Imo, not as good as the first two, and the silliness felt a bit forced in some places. The whole Krikkit story seemed to drag a bit as well, but it's still immensely funnier and more entertaining than most other books I've ever read. Mr. Adams was/is one of a kind!

Third book in the Hitchhiker "trilogy." The inhabitants of planet Krikkit find out that they are not alone in the universe and so they plan to destroy everyone who is not them. Our heroes (Arthur Dent, Ford Prefect, Slartibartfast, Zaphod Beeblebrox, and Trillian) must try to save the universe from the white killer robots of Krikkit. A few of my favorite parts: Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, who is on a quest to personally insult every individual in the Universe - in alphabetical order; Arthur's flying lessons, where he tries to throw himself at the ground - and miss; Agrajag, who keeps getting reincarnated, only to be accidentally killed, repeatedly, by Arthur.

The thought alone is enough to make you laugh. but adams seems to be running out of juice. his writing is becomeing more forced.

As usual, confusing and random, but fun. Not my favorite of his books so far... the first two were better with "Hitchhiker" being the best so far.

A bit redundant, but not bad. Continues the story straight after The Restaurant at the end of the Universe. Still interesting, but takes place mostly on Earth, at least Arthur's and Ford's story. The group is now separated and the book tells of all the adventures of the individuals. But mostly on Arthur, the main character. Not bad, but I had some trouble concentrating, since it got a little repetitive.
