Powerful book. Gives you alot to think about if you are struggling with your own spiritual beliefs. I think my favorite of all the Vampire Chronicles.

If you have not read this book DO IT!!! With every vampire book, story, movie whatever it is, vampire and damnation go hand and hand. That is what we have excepted just as vampires can't walk into sun light, and Anne Rice has rewritten the laws of vampires in this book and the others. Even Lastat believed he was damned forever. The way that Anne Rice wrote this book showed us we don't write the rules. I read it a few years ago and it change my ideas. This book made me think, question, I even argued with it and in the end it made sense everything about it just fit. She wrote about things most won't even touch on and gave a new way to think about God and Satan. I grew up thinking the devil is evil and thats it but no one ever told me why. I honestly think, and I'll probably get stoned with the other person but, I think you have to read it to get it. To know that you are precious to God and there is someone right beside you saying you are not and he doesn't care; but there is a reason why. READ IT!!!
