It may have been a mistake to pick up volume 4 of this series without reading the other three first. Perhaps I enjoy McCall Smith's No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency because I read them in order. Not that this book was difficult to understand--I just didn't care about the characters or the story very much.

 An enjoyable and easy read.

I didn't realise this book was part of a series but that didn't seem to detract from the book being able to be enjoyed on its own.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't more philosophy references or discussions as I'd hoped. Based on the back of the book summary I thought it'd be more on the lines of Sophie's World but alas not.

This series gets better with every book. My advice to potential readers is to start at the beginning with Sunday Philosophy Club and keep going. Great story.

What a mistake! I loved Precious Rambotswe and hoped to find somebody just as warm and inviting and instead there's... Isobel Dalhousie. Prim, buttoned up, devoid of warmth or personality. Ugh. Don't go there.

Still enjoying the series. Isabel is here faced with trouble at work and is still estranged from her niece. Also, she explores a painting that she believes may be a fake.

Delightful and light. I love the life she's living. Isabel is both clever and thoughtful.

I thought it`s not as good as the others. Isabel is a bit to extreme. She is still a know-it-all and doesn`t seem to change. Cat is just unbelievable mean. I think if a friend of mine would behave like that they will need a good excuse. I still like Jamie though.
