The English title of this book is ''After the quake,'' but, Japanese original title is ''All the children of the God dance'' (as literal as
possible). In Japanese, the word Odoru (dancing) reminds me ''Marionette''. If this word is connected to God, this means: we are all marionette, following the fate. ''After the quake'' is also a good title, but, it seems all these original tiles subtleness is gone... I enjoy the book.

Another great little book filled with short stories plucked from the chunks of Murakami's imagination. They'll make you think, and each one of them will surely make you feel something and look inward for some more answers.

Another great book by Murakami. I liked it a lot. Nice how he worked the quake into all the stories.

A lovely and sometimes heartbreaking collection of stories that are inspired by the aftermath of the earthquake in Kobe, where Murakami grew up.

Some of the short stories worked for me and some didn't. They are more like vignettes...one thing I like about this type of story-telling is that there is no neat tying-up of the ideas / characters / plot lines at the end of each story. Ambiguity is a good thing!

Excellent selection of short stories that are a good introduction to Murakami's work. I can't decide which one is my favorite... Honey Pie, Thailand or Superfrog saves Tokyo.
