This is truly one of the worst books I have ever read. While Jong-Fast undoubtedly wanted some of her mother's success, creating a poor version of a Bret Easton Ellis novel was not the right way to go about it. The characters have no soul and the "transformation" is totally undigestible. Read the Basketball diaries, Junky, or any of the hundreds of books that do depravity, sex, and drugs much better than this paltry attempt at a novel.

It was an intense book that really shows a certain side to drug/alcohol addictions in upscale families. There's romance and drama that makes it worth reading, but there are slow points that bring it down.
