I love the Serpentwar Saga. It's hard to put the series down. Here we find Erik von Darkmore and Roo. To find them force to leave the only home they have ever known to go into a world they never know existed.

Fiest may not be your regular hugo/nebula or even serious high brow literature, but it is definitely very entertaining and keeps you riveted till the end of the book (which usually happens shockingly too soon, especially when u want so much more).

I have just read all of his books - yes from book 1 - where it all started with good old pug etc. and I love his style of writing. trouble is now that I have read all is that I have to wait until he writes some more!!

Serpentwar was my Introduction to Fiest. He is a marvellous fantasy writer. The text is mature, exciting and intriguing. The tales of Eric and Roo really draw you in.

Feist weaves an intruiging tale following the growth of a farm-boy (or boys, as is the case here) to battle-experienced soldier. The battles don't happen as frequently as you'd read in a Salvatore, but Feist's attention to detail and flow are more than enough to keep the reader engaged. Clearly, Feist has planned for an epic story for the reader, as this first book lays down a solid foundation for the background of our future heros. However, unlike Jordan, Feist has paced the book at just the right speed to keep the reader engaged and interested. This book is a solid start to an epic adventure! I look forward to reading how his characters develop as the armies of doom approach.
