This was the first horror novel I ever read, first Stephen King I ever read. I stayed up all night to finish it. Subsequently, I couldn't sleep. I was in Junior High and I was hooked. It was fantastic. I did not read the illustrated version my review is attached to, just grabbed the paperback from the Ventura Library and finished it in one foggy night.

Having heard a lot about this book, I got it with much enthusiasm; only to be disappointed after reading it. The plot is extremely slow and the lack of life in the characters makes it even more boring. King introduces all the characters only to be killed in chapter 13. Vampires "falling on" people and killing them is ridiculous. The ending cannot get worst.

jedyna książka, w której się zakochałam, a której nie byłam w stanie pożreć 'na raz'... niestety zbyt intensywnie wpływała na moje sny... ;P
