The book makes you angry and cynical....took me a long time to finish because I could see the ending coming and I didn't want it. Unfortunately I think there's a little too much truth there. "Let the people vote". Yeah, right.

Grisham's best work in some time. Unfortunately, it is probable that political machinations like those described in this book are all too frequent in our nation. It is a real eye-opener.

I couldn't even finish it. So disappointing from Grisham. Way too many characters who didn't get developed and I was 2/3 of the way through it and "the appeal" hadn't even been filed yet. BORING.

I love all of Grishams's books - but this one is so hard to get into. I got lost in the plot and the ending was STUPID....I actually tossed the book across the room after reading it.

More enjoyable Grisham. Same stuff. Easy to read but not as compelling as some of his work.

Classic John Grisham writing, but not he best by far. It had moments of great intrigue but they were short and few. Good for a quick mindless read.

First John Grisham read for me. Really enjoyed the interlacing of stories. I see some do not like the ending, but fine by me. Made me read his non-fiction, The Innocent Man - very good.

akhirnya selese juga... awalnya semangat bgt bacanya tp pas udah di tengah2, langsung baca ending nya (kebiasaan yg ga bisa ilang)... langsung nge-drop!!! terus terang pas tengah2 ceritanya jd boring banget!! tp pas mau abis ya lumayan, walaupun ending nya ya itu tadi, bikin nge-drop!!

Easily Grisham's worst read. Meandering, with tons of filler, he also interjects his politics in often-jarring ways to the point that it's almost propoganda at some of its most extreme moments. Skip it.

Great Grisham read. Made me think very differently about campaigns and elections...especially the one that occurred in 2008.
