Mother Teresa gets 5 stars. But this book was long and repetitious.

Amazing. Just amazing. It shows us Mother Teresa's humanity through crisis of Faith. I have more respect for her now than I ever did before reading it.

It is wonderful to feel that a great Saint passed through so much pain and do not break. Remember to always smile for Jesus!

I havent finished it yet. Its pretty hard read, only because its so personally. On chapter six now. If there was ever a saint in my time, it would be her.

This was a fascinating read, both from a faithful and a scientific perspective. Mother Teresa was like no one else whose biography I have read on this earth, yet she serves the same God as the many saints whose writings I have read. It flows in line with C.S. Lewis's great statement, "How monotonously alike have been the great tyrants and conquerors, how gloriously different the saints."

This book is slightly disappointing because of its repetitive nature. Of course one could attribute this to simply a lack of appreciation for Mother Theresa's sacrifices. I find it disappointingly predictable and one need only read the 1st few chapters (letters) to grasp the entire message. Perhaps, life is just that predictable and boring.

Superb book. Honest from the heart. Uplifting that despite the darkest in her life, she lived in faith.

A very challenging book that moved me to tears.

It's humbling and fascinating to read M Theresa's personal writings to her confessors and superiors. It is too bad that her writing, which speaks for itself, is put on a pedestal by the author's worshipful writing. Her strength of character and incredible strong relationship with Jesus were a given, I didn't need to read icing on the icing.

Still, read the book to see the whole person, not the cliché in a sari.

I'm done and now I want to read it again!!! I love the beauty of this woman's soul. Her walk with Christ was so real. and so much more amazing when you read about her spiritual darkness.

I enjoyed reading the letters that Mother Teresa wrote during her lifetime. I learned quite a lot from her. She loved God very deeply, yet struggled for years and years with her faith. Reading about Mother Teresa's struggles encouraged me. She won the Nobel Peace Prize and still felt and a darkness frequently. I also appreciated that Mother asked for what she wanted from the priests who were her superiors. When she was told "no," she would continue to ask for what she wanted until she was told "yes."I appreciate her persistence and her passion.I read her letters and usually skipped over the editors writings. He just summed up her words anyway.

Probably one of the best books I have ever read. Critics misrepresented this book and her struggle. This book takes each reader behind the scenes and allows everyone an inside peak into the life of a Saint. A real life of joy and struggle. A story of faith and question. The last page of the book made me weep.

I could only read small bits at one time because it was so depressing. If Mother Teresa can't even maintain closeness with God, what hope is there for the rest of us? Also, I thought her advisors' continual "encouragement" that her suffering was a blessing was downright cruel.

I was dissapointed by this book. I thought that the author did a very poor job of putting it together, and relied more on the controversy of the content, rather than actual literary skill, to get through it. I di not enjoy the author's exposition on Mother Teresa's insights; they offered no useful commentary and often only repeated the phrases that Mother Teresa herself penned. If you read this book you would be better off skipping the bits written by Brian Kolodiejchuk.

A very illuminating biographical work. It shows the "dark night of the soul". How she struggled for years to feel the existence of God within her, with only fleeting moments. Yet she still continued her mission. In the end she found solace in aligning this "aridity" with the line from Christs passion - "Why have you forsaken me". She aligned herself to Jesus this way and found her way to cope.

"Come Be My Light" is not a biography in the classic sense, however it gives rare insights into the spiritual life of this deeply spiritual woman through letters that she wrote to her spiritual advisors and confessors--letters that she begged to have destroyed. Mother's Teresa's passion for Jesus grew in intensity over the years, however, she rarely had any concious sense of His presence. She was truly a woman who walked by faith and not by sight.

It is a book to be sipped and not gulped as her life is so far removed from most of our lives, that her words must be taken in small doses.

Amazing to read Mother Teresa's private letters, and learn of her inability to perceive God's presence and love in her own life while giving her all to others. The depth of her faith in the midst of this life-long struggle is an awesome inspiration.

The way she loves God, definitely puts many of us to great shame. We profess correctly with our lips but where's our real priority in life? So far, I have read 1/4 of the book and it is enlightening.
