"Myra Breckinridge" is what Vidal calls an "invention". It's outrageous and funny and sexy and one of the most genuinely inventive books you'll ever read.

Myra is the smartest, sickest and most seductive woman in literature. From the fist sentence I was hooked and did not stop reading until I finished the book. Gore Vidal's use of language is brilliant but totally accessible. This book is sick and twisted and hilarious and poignant.

one of my favorite books of all time is myra breckinridge and myron is the perfect, twisted follow up. Myra is one of the greatest characters ever created and could teach anyone a few things about sex and power. Hail Myra!
