This is one of those books I had to read for a class. I'm glad I did but never want to read it again.

I had to read this one for school, but I ended up loving it although the story sounded weird at first. It draws you in and makes you feel empathy for all of the characters, no matter how many times they mess up.

I think alot of us were forced to read and dissect this book in high school. Yes, it is boring to read at the slow pace of an entire classroom and is much, much better when read quickly.

Okay, I get the hidden meaning and all that wonderful introspective jazz about human nature and whatnot, but seriously, it didn't hold my attention. Some people I know loved it, but at times, Hawthorne's needless verbosity makes me want to bash my head through a wall. The whole book sounds like if Salinger had ADD. -shivers-
