It was fine, not as great as other Christie books though. Not a must read, but enjoyable.

I read the entire Agatha Christie collection as a teenager. I remember them as being very entertaining, and badly translated into Portuguese. And no, I did not have anything better to do at the time (or so I thought). Anyway, I loved the suspense, the middle-upper class settings , and a lot of the characters - not necessarily the detectives.

In all honesty, this was my first Christie book (just read it, I am 23) and while it was well-written (Poirot is a blast!), I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed to the point where I couldn't put the book down. Although I am very close to the characters in age, I was surprised that the relationships between them were less than convincing. Then again, this was written in the 1950s. I guess it's worth reading on a lazy Sunday or at the beach but not a show-stopper. I am actually very interested in Mr. Poirot though and this novel, if anything, made me fascinated with the detective more than the mystery itself.

I'll say the same for all of Christie's books: I love them, never read one that I didn't like. Enjoy reading them again and again
