I was looking forward to this book and I found it kind of dry. I like how she wrote so I bought other books. This book is okay

it was okay... albeit a little boring im afraid, i was really looking forward to reading this, but i found myself page flicking to find interesting bits, it was not a very engaging read.

i put this book down half way through, it was very dry and failed miserably to hold my interest, and with a case as big as Jack the Ripper, it should be easy to write a novel with more umph to hold the reader

I have read many of Patricia Cornwall's book over the years and enjoyed most of them. This particular book I did not like one iota and cannot imagine what possessed her to write it. This is a mystery well over 100 years old and there should have been enough available material to make it a good read. It is one of the few books I put down partway through reading. THere was one other of hers that was almost as bad but I did finish it but can't remember the name. i would not give this book 1 star.

Was a really unusual read....I love how she figures out who Jack the Ripper was, and descriptive the killing, and basically walks you through his life and the murders! This is a very interesting book!!! Don't try to read it while eating though!!
