Not very familiar with this genre but I fell in love with this book years ago. Gibson is something else.

If this was in a pile of NY Times bestsellers waiting for me to read, this would probably be the last of the pile to read; I'm not really all that thrilled with the Sci-Fi genre in general. "Pattern Recognition", though, is one of those rare hybrids where the action is set not too far in the future to make it relevant to today's times. The plot centers upon a woman searching for the makers of a short film posted in pieces anonymously on the internet. It reads much more thrillingly than the core story would suggest. Very impressive.

Although best known for his Hugo award winning cyberpunk masterpiece "Neuromancer", this main stream novel has an SF feel, and some spectacular writing. Worth re-reading.

Haven't finished but will only to know exactly how much to hate this product placement marathon infused with hipster trivialities. Does NOT qualify as science fiction because it isn't close to addressing any future tech. Sucks hard core so far...

An interesting novel that is set in the present but feels more like it is set 30 minutes into the future. The characters were quite engaging, particularly the main character, Cayce Pollard. The plot line moved along reasonably well, but some readers may feel like nothing much happens throughout most of the novel. The novel's focus was really on the interaction of the characters and how they are affected by the "viral" video clips that were being anonymously posted in the net. Finally, Gibson's attention to detail may put some readers off on this one, though I found it an interesting stylistic choice.

Belongs to that select group of stay-up-all-night-to-finish-it literature. Really, really well done.

Gibson at his best, the twins, the video, the damaged data? Well I guess you'll just have to read it!
