Quite good. Again, a book unmarred by all the sex and violence in so many novels today. Full of adventure and excitement.

I love Dirk Pitt novels. They are always exciting to read & you actually learn a little history.

Clive Cussler is the master author of oceanic adventure. Trojan Odyssey is not just a part of the Dirk Pitt series; it marks the end of Dirk Pitt Sr.'s daredevilry and allows for Dirk Jr. to take the reigns. Although part of a series, all of Cussler’s novels are stand alone works. If you don’t know Cussler, you should.

I was never a fan of history in school, as a matter of fact it was one of my worst subjects. Anyways, my ex turned me on to this author and I absolutely loved this book. When I finished it, I wanted to go back and learn more about what I had read about. Clive Cussler weaves history in with fiction to make learning interesting and fun! :)

I think it will be a long time before I take another Cussler novel from the bookshelf.. Ok, the story has some good cliffhangers but overall the book is poor. I mean, the characters are sooo conservative with women being mainly weak and focused on beauty, men are masculine and adventurers. The settings are also quite upper class and Cussler also seems to adore the concept. How the book was written - meaning how Cussler phrases - gave me some good laughs, but not on a positive edge. How he describes the relationship of Dirk Pitt and his new-found children for example. I have to admit that the idea of Odysseus' travels ending at Caribbean is nice but that's probably the best part of the book. The worst part is the end which seems to be meant as a sentimental ending but seems to be nothing but very lame tragicomic end for the whole story.

This book was so shocking , That i loved it. A megalomaniac, gorgeous woman impersonating a fat man was a stoke of genius

Quite good till the last page when the main character meet the author. did nothing to add the story. Just added a hint of egotism in my opinion

A lot of people love Clive Cussler. He wrote Sahara, which was turned into a "major motion picture." I think his books are alright. I guess, with my adventure books, I like to have a plot that is somewhat believable. With Clive Cussler, you have to take that leap into "Okay, I'll pretend that this really could happen." Once you accept his premise, then his books are delightful. I just have a hard time doing that.
