To be honest, this was kind of a let down. I wasn't very impressed with it. Of course it was very difficult getting passed the beginning but the overall plot still stayed painfully predictable. This is one of Koontz's earlier works, and its pretty obvious that it is too.

a really a great story to read.. good suspense not wanting to put the ook down.. HOw a mother manaage to find her son whom it beleived to dead by an accident occurred during an school excursion, where the mum believed that her son danny is still alive the book was awesome, it keep me goin to know whether tina manage to find her son who was keep captive in a island where it involves politics.. And why was a small boy was kept captive when he was pronounced dead after a whole bus overturned and exploded and danny was burned to a level which was unidentiable.. great books..

OMG I loved this book. It was my 2nd Dean Koontz & it rocked! I had it in my hands every moment I could get it there. (and, with a 6mo old lol) I was sucked in wanting more! The book got into my brain so deep that I would dream of it. :0) It's a must read!

I read this in two sittings. It grabs you on the first page and doesn't let go until the end.

This book kept me intrigued throughout. The ending was a little disappointing. I guess I was expecting a little more action. But, it was a good read...

This book has gripped me deeply from the very beginning, and even years later I am affected by it. I think it is because it focuses on and tells the story of just how strong the ties between mother and child can be. And it touches on a deep fear of mine. It is a book I could read over and over, yet I don't need to because it is ingrained into my soul.

not my favorite Koontz book - the story started off decent enough and took a spin for the worse towards the end.
