this is def the best in the series...love the plot!Ok this is the third book I read of the series and its def. my favourite!Althougth it was a little rushed at the end...

This series is one of my favourites by Garth Nix. Drowned Wednesday- that whale of a woman ;)- vs Arthur Penhaligon- a mere mortal- who could possibly win?

Really enjoyed this, more adult style of writing, and i loved the imagination that went into the story. I loved the story line of pirates and of drowned Wednesday, the characters were better and much well thought out too. Overall very enjoyable.

Wonderful writing, keeps you guessing and wanting more. I will be disappointed when this series comes to a close.

So much better than Harry Potter. Depth of the universe Garth Nix has created is unbelievably 3D (although that may be limiting it unfairly, 5 or 6D?). Books progressively get better and better.

As good as the rest of the series. Nix has a fantastic imagination, and he goes from strength to strength!

I am constantly amazed by Nix's outrageous imagination. His story once again redefines the lines of time, space, death, and creation, so much so that I am still surprised that this series is targeted toward adolescents. Symbolism mixed with mythology, time and space confused with infinity, and the broken will of God ripped into Nix's magical number of seven (days, sins, rulers) all make Drowned Wednesday the most frantic and satisfying adventure with Arthur Penhaligon yet. Indeed, you can't go wrong with a kid whose leg was jutting up at a right angle a couple hours before being plunged into a foreign sea to battle pirates, strange magic, and a woman so hungry that she swallowed an island that is threatening to dissolve into nothing. Seriously, Arthur is the second coolest black-haired bespecaled orphan in teenage science fiction ever.
