Holes was an amazing book. I loved it so much! Its one of my favorite books that I can read over and over again. I couldn't put it down once I got started! Really great book! And the movie is great too! I love this book!! I read it in the 7th grade and fell in love with it. Not only that, but the movie is amazing too. Louis Sachar did a great job with this book. This book is one of my favorite books to read. I was hooked on the book. Couldn't put it down.

The only book I can ever remember reading and hating instantly. I think I've given it something like 4, possibly even 5 chances- heck, it was assigned reading in two of my otherwise wonderful middle-school english classes. My opinion has never changed... it's trash literature aimed for young people. I don't care if everyone else loves it, it's junk and I never will. (Harsh, I know... But it's truly a disgrace to literature!) Worst book ever.

I read this book I don't know how long ago, but I have loved it ever since! Louis Sachar provides so many elements in this book; so many suprises that you don't see coming until they are right up on you! A must read for young people who are a bit reluctant to read!

HOLES - a SHOVEL wide a SHOVEL deepStanley Yelnats digs holes for good in Salt Lake obviously there is no more water. His dad makes the home stink by melting shoes in his lab for years and is a failure. All this misery, becoz of his dirty piggy thief Great Great Grandfather.... OOUch......

So it may be for middle schoolers, but it's one of the BEST stories I've ever read. Funny--who but Sachar would give his main character the palindromic name Stanley Yelnats--and tightly wound, this keep you guessing until the last page has been flipped.

Louis Sachar has an incredible way of putting great characters into a unique story that captures the readers interest from the very beginning. I love it!

i read this book in school and it was really good its about a family who have a boy and this boy gets cursed and has to go way and he goes to this camp where he has to dig load of holes and eventually the cures is broken and he is free to go home it starts with a pair of trainers from what i remember.would reccomend it

The best part of this book is that it is geared for boys--a rare thing for this age group. It is an exciting adventure story that breaks stereotypes and celebrates friendship...highly recommended for boys 8-14. The best part about this book is its appeal to boys...not an easy challenge to meet. It is an entertaining adventure story that breaks a lot of stereotypes. Highly recommended for boys on the edge of enjoying reading.
