La extraña humanidad de un futuro lejano se vuelve aún mas enrarecida en los espacios extremos a los cuales las confina Alastair Reynolds. Este libro fue una revelación para mi (tal como su nombre lo indica). Reynolds logra llevar la space opera a un nuevo nivel de complejidad y madurez sin perder la frescura y el ritmo de una historia de acción.

Libro droga che non puoi smettere di leggere.Una visione tecnologica stranamente barocca. Attendo di aver ultimato la lettura prima di esprimere un giudizio finale. Comunque lo finirò a Natale poiché il libro viene pubblicato da Urania in 2 parti e la seconda pare che uscirà a dicembre

This is one of the best Hard SciFi books ever. So much happens in this book and it is a great start to a universe that Reynolds continues to flesh out in his further books.

Reynolds first novel is a marvelous addition to the space opera genre. In this far-flung future, embrace of technology (or lack thereof) has caused humanity to splinter into four factions. Faced with a universe that harbors no other intelligent life, the search to answer the question "Why?" leads to an answer that is both terrifying in scope and plausible in design. Highly recommended for fans of hard science fiction.

Totally awesome book that keeps you in the dark until the very end. Once you think you have it figured out, you don't. Well thought out and very engaging.
