Not quite as good as Dune. It drags around a lot, bogged down with the political and religious intrigue of the palace. Children of Dune however seems to be a return to form.

Good writer but also founded Scientology which is just a business to take money from ignorant people like Tom Cruise. It cost $300,000 to be a guru. At least other cults and organized religion take your money in less obvious schemes.

Much darker than Dune. Not quite as good, but still a pretty solid sequel. Recommended for anyone who enjoyed Dune.

..my only regret is that I didn't read it in English, I don't want a translation(..even though I read a good translation, __I want the words of the author)!! __but I'll read the rest of the series in English ^__^ I'm a SF lover__ ..you know, there was an idea I'm still thinking about >> if you can take a look to the future, does that mean that you can change it as you wish..? \ or .. maybe living without knowing it's all the fun.. What do you think? << ..you might find more than a SF story try it!! *__^

Ok - now he is just getting pretentious. While the writing style is good - and he keeps you moving through the pages, there are absolutely no surprises - everything is completely transparent.

What is interesting about this book is both how cerebral it is while still being so violent. Every thought is described while the deaths of Billions is discussed. I give Frank Herbert great respect for ending each of the books in the series with an ending that could end the series and not require you to get the next one.

I enjoyed this book, more than others I talked to. Only recommending to sci-fi fans, and even then with some reservations.
