This was the first science fiction book I ever read. I was nine, and the Vietnam war was just getting cranked up. Since I read this, I have always seen soldiers in a different light. Read this book. Send it to your friends. And then think carefully before you think you know who the enemy is.

Before Power Rangers there was...Starship Troopers! If you've ever seen the movie, it's nothing like the book! If you haven't seen the movie, don't bother. Read the book, you'll enjoy it much more.

This was a fantastic book. My 2nd Heinlein book after Stranger in a Strange Land. He's definitely squared away a place on my list of favorite authors. I will certainly read a lot more of him.

Contains some interesting ideas (well, the powered armor at least) but mostly bunk philosophy. Every character has no other purpose but to support this philosophy. This is the second book by Heinlein that I've read and will definitely be the last one by him I will purchase.

my first science fiction book. also a great song by YES on THE YES ALBUM. "ceasars' palace -morning glory -silly human race...on a sailing ship to nowhere leaving anyplace...if the summer changed to winter...yours is no disgrace. ooh -setting off on other roads... to travel on ...in old accustomed ways
