Incredible book! Dan Simmons once again weaves together several diverse characters, historical events, religious beliefs and some crazy ideas in order to form this phenomenal story. I don't want to know where he gets his ideas from but I pray that he keeps them coming! I've read eight of his books already and am on the hunt for any other book I can find by him.

I am not a big fan of horror novels - I read it because I like Dan Simmons. For the genre, this is an exiting read, as much of a thriller as it is a horror novel. A bit long but interesting enough to keep me glued.

It's still my favourite Simmons book, despite his science fiction work. It's compelling, dark, complex, .... A must-read for all with an interest of horror or books bordering on horror.
