Terrible writing for this author even though this is suppose to be for young adults I find the prose was that of a eight or nine year old.

Patterson and Charbonnet start this fast-moving thriller by dropping teenage siblings unaware of their own magical powers into the prison of a totalitarian government. As their powers grow, Whit and Wisty escape the prison and become figures in the childrens' resistance against the know-it-all grownups. Entertaining, but totally derivative.

I'm at the Epilogue and it's really good. The siblings came a long way since the beginning and it's a very good book.

I liked this book very much. It's an age old story of standing up for what you believe in. Bad reviews for the books that follow it (3-books total in the series) have temporarily halted me from reading the remainder of the series. Perhaps I will loan the following book of the series from the local library and give it a try. Daunting reviews have demotivated from visiting the library. This book was an easy read. I read it in 2-days while working out on the eliptical! I gighly recommend reading this book. I you're not interested in the series, than at least read this book. It will be made into a movie and there is a sneak preview of the movie script in the end of the book along with deleted scenes. Always a beautiful thing- a big plus for us readers. Enjoy. I hope to see in depth reviews of the books that follow. Perhaps I will write one myself!
