A well written story about the glamourous life of a business mogul's family, murder, blackmail and romance. I would have expected the ending to be somewhat different, but this was also part of the "can't put down a Sheldon book" experience. Nice!

The book is about a affluent guy who dies or was killed. He leaves behind him lot of liabilities, an illegitimate child and incapable children. The novel is a composure of small stories on the various characters that the author has produced. The story however, is well knitted and quite attractive. It holds the attention of the reaader till the end. Needless to say that Sideney is the best.

I could easily relate Julia to our old Cinderella, who knows that she can fight for her rights but is actually waiting for some nice miracle. Sheldon plotted the scene well enough but it wasn't as capturing because he let his readers know the main culprit very soon, so the end was very accepted types, you can assume what was coming next. In all this one is not as superb as his other write ups.

It mainly focusses on the chracters tangled fictiously in the plot and shows the lifestyle of each person.Quite a book to read for relaxation ! Can be rated : 3/5

hmm...my intro to the world of sidney sheldon was made through this book...till i got hold of this book,i was ot major or avid book reader...acutally i couldnt imagine myself reading such thick novels, but after my 12th exams just got hold of this book...it was a revelation....though it might not be the top selling ones but for me it will always be special, coz in many ways it paved way for me to be what i am today, a voracious reader...thanks Sidney:)
