Typical Sidney Sheldon type of gripping action going on all along. Smaller chapters with more conversational writing and revealing little by little but fast enough toward the end to make you finish it even though you have to go to work at 7:00 am next morning and its 1:00 am already! Excellent read for reading-virgins like me!

this is the book where Dana Evans was first introduced and later on Dana Evans was revived on his book the sky is falling.i am very familiar with Sidney Sheldon's story flow so it was easier for me know who killed those girls.

This was the very first Sheldon book that I've ever read. I actually liked the way Sheldon writes his plot so I went on reading his other books. The reason why I couldn't give Best Laid Plans a 5 rating, despite this being the way to discovering me of Sidney, is that I actually forgot the details of the story, meaning, it was a story not so striking. However, I'm planning on reading this again, well, just to remind me on how I was introduced to one of the greatest authors of all time.

This is one of those really connecting Sheldon books. I first read 'The Sky is Falling' before reading this one. However, it only made my experience better. This book features some really well planned twists. I have to admit even I don't think I got the end very well in my head before it was revealed. The relationship between the truth and the assumed truth is quite amazing. The reference to the famous article that announced Dewey winning over Truman showed how revenge can really change someone. The war was so realistic I was almost reminded of reading Hiroshima. The desperation and post traumatic distress was carefully planned. Still, I think "The Sky is Falling" Is a much better book if you wanted to focus on the reporter.

The latest from the indefatigable Sheldon is full of manipulators, dirty dealers, and dastardly rascals, all snatching at power--political, financial, sexual, or all the above; in other words, business as usual in Sidney's World. The Best Laid Plans begins with the meeting and mating of Oliver Russell, a promising young attorney-cum-gubernatorial candidate, and Leslie Stewart, the beautiful go-getter who is running his public relations campaign. Just as the pair is about to be wed, Russell's mentor, Senator Todd Davis, offers him a deal he can't refuse: marry my daughter and I will make you president. Russell accepts and Stewart vows revenge. The lion's share of The Best Laid Plans revolves around the young pol's rise to power and Stewart's byzantine plotting to bring him to grief. Russell gives his phony wife plenty of opportunities because, like every fictional president (and some real ones), Russell has an unruly libido. Reading this book is like waiting for a train wreck, bracing for the inevitable collision; but to Sheldon's credit, the titanic scandal that ends the novel is not quite what you expect... The story of a girl who tries to destroy the man she lovesThe style of this author is very different. He gives more importance to dialogues and emotions rather than describing the environment and surroundings. The book is short and gripping. The suspense is OK and you may not be surprised at the end. But the way he has portrayed the feelings of the heart-broken girl is incredible. The book does not let you favour any one of the characters. The author has made sure that whatever each of the character is doing is justified in his or her own way. All in all, it is a good book
