I liked the way Potok portrayed the characters. The characters seemed very true in the voice he used for them. I compare this to the voice used in Memoirs of a Geisha, which is clearly written by an American man. If You like M*A*S*H the TV show you might like this book as well.

Amazingly one of Chaim Potok's best books takes place in Korea.
