This book was excellent. It explained a lot about the main character of many of the books. It's a real page turner.

This book was amazing. Learning about Allon's past made him seem more human and less like the cold killer he has to be to survive. I also liked how Silva has slowly changed Ari into an old war horse. The storyline of this book was just perfect and heartbreaking.

Looking at things from the eyes of others is always intresting. For someone who is a big fan of Adham Sabry of the Egyptian GID to read about Gabriel Allon from the Isreal special forces is a big mental stretch. The spy world is always intresting no matter what side of the fence you are reading from, and suprisingly the same. The story was for sure intresting and well plotted and since the main subject was the Nazi and Holocaust, i was able to be get into it with no emotional baggage attached.

I just finished reading this book. I love it! It is great as previous Daniel Silva books. Everything about this book is great...it is great that Daniel Silva writes about what happened and that new generations never forget about the horror that Jewish people went through.It is something so horrible that should never be forgotten. As Ari Shamron(great character) says: "because I am Shamron,and I never forget."

This is the fourth book in the Allon series. I love each one. Books 2-4 all feature a great deal about the Holocaust and World War II and what happened after the war. I've always been fascinated with that time period so I found these books to be interesting learning experiences along with the joy of reading a great suspense novel.

A very good book, but when I got to the end I found out it's the 3rd one of a series. Obviously you don't have to read them in order, but now I want the first 2.

Loved this one even more than "The Confessor"! Great story and characters!!! Just the descriptions of holocaust events made me painfully sad!!!

With his 4th offering in his Gabriel Allon series, Daniel Silva continues his program of analyzing different contemporary aspects of the Shoa - the murder of six million Jews in World War II - through the fictional prism of sometime Israeli agent Gabriel Allon and his handler Ari Shamron. Silva began this project with his second Allon book entitled The English Assassin. In that book, Silva explores the theft of Jewish money by the Nazi's during WWII and - as Silva fictionally portrays it - how Zurich banks helped. In The Confessor, Silva explores the relationship between the Vatican and Nazi Germany during the war. In A Death in Vienna, Allon and Shamron attempt to track down a Nazi who escaped justice after the end of the war. The moral backdrop of WWII and the Holocaust provide significant depth to Silva's espionage thrillers.
