A little more serious than some of her other books. Explores the challenges of caring for elderly/handicapped parents and siblings. Very poignant.

A phenomenal experience in storytelling. I listened to the audio book,
A deeply moving story, covering difficult family topics, alzheimers (sp?), long distance parenting, stroke survival, facing the approach of a child's teenage years, and much much more. I can't do it justice. Read the book jacket. But it's a 1,2 punch, Lisa Wingate supplies a flawless narrative, and Johanna Parker delivers nothing short of an inspirational vocal performance. You can put good money on the fact that I will be buying every collaboration these 2 masters have put together in the past in short order, and will be pre-ordering anything they plan in the future. I don't even have to know what it is, I'll buy it sight unseen. That's how moved I was by this total performance.
A majesty, an honor, an experience, "A Month Of Summer".

Amazing writing of a family life of secrets, heartache, of a child growning up and moving on with their life! Healing past wounds and reuniting a family!

Lisa seems to be exploring new territory in writing about complicated family situations. It stayed true to her ability as a storyteller. In the end, you felt good about the outcomes and the message that love conquers all.

Loved this book. Covers a lot of today's challenges, the vunerablability of seniors to home care workers, stroke and recovery, caregiving a family member with Alzheimers, develomentally challanged adults, nursing home care and the over scheduling of some of todays young families. Great characters who keep you interested in this insightful story.
