Not as good as the original Sevenwaters Trilogy, but not a disappointment as far as sequals go.

This was a FANTASTIC book. One of Marillier's very best-second only to Daughter of the Forest, in my opinion.

This is the 4th book in the Sevenwaters "trilogy". It can be read on its own, though I recommend starting with the first, Daughter of the Forest, which is a retelling of the fairy tale of the Six Swans. This particular book is a story of a young girl whose baby brother is abducted by the fair folk, and replaced with a changeling baby only she can see. It is also a love story, as are all of this author's books that I've read. It is a beautiful story that I cried over and couldn't put down.

Enjoyed the continuation of a much beloved series. I didn't enjoy it as much as previous installments, but still fun escapist reading.

For a Pagan living in an urban setting, this really gets my imagination going and I can feel myself start to see through the main characters' eyes. Excellent for anyone who likes a good fantasy story and also for anyone who is Pagan as the research done on the backgrounds of myths of the isles has been very well done.
