Austen's last finished novel makes the reader wonder if this was the same person who wrote the sparkling 'Pride & prejudice','Emma',etc.Not a bad book by any means,but the shadow of sadness prevails throughout the story even to the end.

This is Austen's last but best novel in my opinion. Contrary to her other novels, the heroine is mature and has already missed her chance for happiness, because she listened to her reason, rather than to her heart. Eight years later, she is again confronted to her past, and the man who she once refused to marry. It is a great book, because Austen introduces another theme which she hasn't used in any of her other novels. Not only are the characters more mature when they meet again, but Austen plays with the past and it is memory that brings back the two characters together again.

The ONLY Jane Austen novel I can honestly say I enjoyed, and wouldn't have any qualms in recommending to others. Read it to see why!

It is abeautiful classic story , not very romantic but full of thoughts and surprises , I liked the best ; the letter that was written by Captain Wentworth
