I give these 15 stars each!! These are true classics, and not just for children. A lot of words and phrases from these stories have entered the English language. As well, I have heard of singing groups with names such as "The Mad Hatters", LOL. Great word pictures and extremely amusing wordPLAY, as well as satire, are to be found in these deliciously clever stories.

An essential childhood book which can be enjoyed well into adulthood. Lewis Carroll has a wonderful sense of the absurd. However, there have been a lot of pretty poor film and TV adaptations of the two books, especially (some people will consider it sacrilegious to say this) the Disney version. I have high hopes for Tim Burton's version, currently in production.

This is in my Top 5 books. Have 3 different copies, including 2 different annotated versions. Read yearly.

My grandmother read this book to me a few pages at a time when I was very young. I didn't understand parts of it but the illustrations kept me fascinated. I've always loved anything to do with Alice since. My first exposure to surrealism. If my grandmother were alive, I'd like to ask her why she chose this book for her 5 year old granddaughter.

Such a wonderful tale that makes you think and is really funny. It's somewhat odd, but I enjoyed it a lot.

wonderful..read it whilst in Secondary school.. loved Lewis Carroll's eccentric sense of humour and wit... much much better than the rather useless movie

So many times during my day to day life, I find occasions to quote this fabulous book. It's philosophical nonsense seems to make very much sense in my life. Many times I find myself thinking like Alice and giving myself very good advice, such as, "if you drink much from a bottle marked 'poison,' it is almost certain to disagree with you, sooner or later."

What can I say? I adore fairy tales and this one is superb. The writing is fluid, the details are vibrant and the characters are beyond memorable. This is nothing short than a dream scape, in fact for Alice it is. Whatever qualms you may have about reading children's books should be swept away to enjoy this piece I love fairytale and this is written so lovingly that you can't help but enjoy the book

Awesome to read Alice's orginal stories! Felt like being a little girl again...could easily plunge into this fantasy world! Loved all the characters.
