I was not as impressed by the orignal text as I thought I would be. I do give some credit for the idea of a man with two identities, but I believe that was a gimmicky idea of the time period.

A classic... there's nothing more that needs to be said about a book when its characters are common parlance, even among those who may have never actually read the book.

Robert Louis Stevensons novels are always dark(which obviously i love) plus very well written,if you like him you will also like Edgar Allan Poe,who also wrote on the dark side too. And self published his first poetry book,"Tamerlane and other poems" in 1827.

Eh. Not entirely sure WHERE I stand on this book. It's not bad, but it's certainly not Pratchett. I quite like the idea and the science-fiction-y element behind it. Hell, even the writing style isn't too bad. But it's short. Pathetically short. And I didn't expect that.

Interesting and classic tale of the duality of good and evil that dwells in all of us. Reads a bit like a detective's case file and is often cited as a precursor to modern mystery tales. Definitely recommended to see where various cultural influences came from (such as a well known Sylvester and Tweety cartoon). Note on this edition, if you've never read the novel before, don't read the introduction before reading the novel itself since it contains several spoilers.
