Just read this in between Iceland Spar and Bilocations. A good look at sexual politics, both 18th and 21st century versions. Ego, the recklessless of desire, and a good romance all are thrown about.

Beautiful play. What is it about being human that also makes us wish for solitude, to be rid of other humans? Or to be immersed in their diverse company reversely? It becomes too much; even great discoveries, great art and human beings are not immune to becoming cheapened and misused at a certain point. I do not know if it is a longing for something new or old that drives this character to renounce his friends and his place in history, but he makes a stirring argument against trusting or speaking to just anyone. I would like to see this on stage, bet id be cool.

Two of my favorite plays, ever. Misanthrope was the first play I ever saw besides school plays. I was always in the school plays, so it was hard to watch them. Narcissistic as I am, I couldn't figure out how to do both. I went to the Indianapolis Reperatory Theatre with a high-school group. It changed my life.
