I really really enjoyed this book. It took me a hot minute to get into it, but once I did, I really really got into it. I love how her powers have grown. How Richard, Jean Claude, and herself can call upon one another's powers, strengths in dire times. It was just an awesome read.

A good read but not one of my favorites. Really the highlight of this book is the introduction of a new character, Asher. He a bit depressing but he adds colour to the line-up of characters. I found myself quite fond of the Traveler as well. Anita gets more responsibilities that she doesn't necessarily wants or needs which adds to her complex character. Not as much action in this one as there is drama. But drama works just as well as action for drawing the reader in. You get a better indepth look at the vampire world, their rules, and their beliefs. There are plenty of twists as well, like Anita saving vampires instead of staking them. Adds a little irony to the reading. A good read all in all.
