A very good plot and story flow about a CIA agent overcoming odds to beat the secretive group of descendents of the Baron of Matarese aiming to take over the world via its economic monopolization and corporate dominance. With the re-emergence of a former agent who was familiar with the operation of the group (from "The Matarese Circle"), the main characters are able to battle the bad guys at their turf.The plot can work with more twist, if the main villain (Son of the Shepherd Boy) did not disappear with an unbelievable clumsiness. However, the author used people’s paranoia and desire to dominate to good effect, and delivered a very effective plot.

Sequel to The Matarese Circle. As fast paced as most of his books. The hero here hunts for the villain, instead of being hunted!
