This is a classic. It is a very interesting book. Told from the view point of Hucleberry Finn and his travels down river with Jim, a slave. A good bit of the story is far fetched. But it has humor and I love the Mississippi River setting. However, this book didn’t rock my world. It’s just not my genre. I think this is a great book for teenage boys. I hope my son will read it when he gets older.

"Ivan read it to me during a break from frisbee(sp?) football in the sheep manure field (i did not play barefoot like the others. Yuck!)It stormed good, so he just picked up the Mark Twain novel and just read and read and readStopping only to comment on my own style of writing:'You know no grammar, use none of it's laws. Your way of learning English allowed you shape it as you need it. This book started out slowly, but as it went on it captured my attention. i admired the courage and strength to fight against society displayed by the characters. The language sometimes made it difficult to follow. I enjoyed the strong bond between the boys, and the fact that to them, friendship was more important than the opinion of others. My favorite part of this book was how it showed you that just becuse everyone else believes in something, that does not mean it is right. overall i would give this book an 7.5 out of ten. -Jodie Hon

One of the best books of all time! I have read it at least a half of a dozen times. Excellent social commentary, then as well as now.

Many are the boys who have been turned on to reading (and writing) as a result of this book. Twain is one of my favorite authors. He expertly dissects the human psyche and with unmatched wit and humor recreates a boyhood that is envied by all. I'm fortunate to be living near Twain's hometown of Hannibal,MO. We visit it from time to time, climbing Cardiff Hill, touring the old mansion, poking through the immortal cave, touring the home (and the unforgettable whitewashed fence).

a masterpiece. easy to read, no huge plots to follow, just somekids having a good time. i like mark twains warning on the front.

One of my all-time favorites. The pre-teen boy scamps just love getting into scrapes, and I loved reading about them. Their characters are so roguish and lovable at the same time, that the reader can't decide from moment-to-moment whether they want the boys to get caught, disciplined, washed-up, and nurtured, or -- whether we want them to not get caught and just keep entertaining us with their scoundrel-like behavior. Love it.
