This is the absolute most sad story I have ever read. I cannot imagine anything more sad than to be the last person of a culture and no one knows your name.

In a word: inspiring.Ishi's story is unlike almost any in the "modern" world and its lessons are too easy lost in the technofuzz we inundate ourselves. A window in an authentic, simpler alternative to civilization.
