This is the first book I read by Ludlum. Fantastic. But then, I was in 10th grade, and I haven't read it since it's been 22 yrs. I should probably read it again!

It was a bit like Bourne for a while, then got going, but I felt it finished rather suddenly.

This is the first book I have read by this author Robert Ludlam (author of 37+ novels including the Bourne Identity series) and what an excellent read it was. I would definately recommend this as a "must read". An ex-Vietnam veteran and college professor (James Matlock) is given an assignment by the US government. This covers large-scale drugs, prostitution, etc. Matlock is soon trapped in a maze of unrelenting terror. But the men in Washington only care about one thing: that Matlock is the perfect man for the job - for a reason that is deadly, violent and extremely disturbing....
