Set at the backdrop of the imminent Germany defeat in WWII, the main character David Spaulding was asked to move from his European base to head over a transaction, sanctioned by US War Department, in Buenos Aires with Erich Rhinemann, a German Jew financier in exile. The transaction was supposedly related to a stolen gyroscope design for high altitude bomber navigation developed by the Nazi. The twist being that Spaulding was not told about the transaction was in fact orchestrated with the Nazi Reich directly, in exchange for industrial diamonds that would help Nazi to extend their war effort. Blind-sided by this secret, Spaulding was confused initially when a group of underground anti-Nazi Jews decided to foil the transaction. They saw Germany must be totally defeated rather than having the chance to enter into a truce negotiation with the Allied front, should they have the ability to prolong the war.

In my opinion, the story flow is not as good as the other WWII espionage spin, with the purpose of Nazi getting industrial diamonds left unexplained. The main character could have been killed off easily by the underground Jews in the first half of the story, on numerous occasions. It got more exciting in the second half when information started to unfold to Spaulding. The love sparkle with the Embassy administrator was a nice touch, albeit very much expected.
