Overall, I'm glad I read it because of the strong storyline...the third part was a little weak. Would recommend to Asimov fans.

It was an interesting book. It explained in detail how another world in another universe would work, and really let me experience that world. The ending was so-so, but the rest of the book was good enough to make up for that.

This book was a departure from the common Asimov themes of the Laws of Robotics, mercury pool memories and positronic brains. With a theological sub-plot, the story challenges the reader to think about the nature of life.

Isaac Asimov's books are all very fun, but I think he just exceeded himself in this one. It's not about people, it's about shimmering blobs of energy... there's no love story about a star crossed couple, but there are triads.. it's just completely absorbing and delightful!

My first Asimov novel ... and I didn't much care for it. It wasn't terrible, and the ideas behind it were certainly intriguing, but I found the story to be a bit dull and ultimately forgettable.

Pretty weird for Asimov. It's an interesting concept, and the writing is quite well done. If you think some sci-fi is a bit too strange, maybe start off with Foundation. This, however, is another great book by the Russian

Great story, especially for folks who are into sci-fi and are interested in energy policy (you'll understand if you read the book). Isaac Asimov wrote this story as a dare when someone said he couldn't write a story about a fictional substance called Plutonium-186.
