Very good, but overly long. I think this should have been spread over more books which is odd considering its the second of the trilogy!

Again, Janny Wurts and Raymond Feist did their best work with these series. This book takes the heroine from Daughter of the Empire and matures her, still keeping us interested in The Great Game.

This is a book I particularly loved. It combines strong memorable characters,a fascinating oriental style world, intrigue and murderous politics with a very compelling, at times emotional plot.I came away with a very strong interest in the characters.

Servant of the empire is the thrilling second part of the acclaimed Empire trilogy.Mara of the Acoma has secured a temporary peace with her murderous rivals House Minwanabi. She buys a lot of new slaves and quickly discovers that one of them,Kevin of Zun,is actually a noble.Using his unique insights into Tsurani society, she rapidly gains status in the deadly game of council. As he becomes her lover and confidante she begins to question long held beliefs about the Tsurani culture and class structure.

An absolute must read for any fantasy lover.
