Sam Williams is truly a great playwriter he blends comedy with reality in his plays and when i first read Buried Child.. i wish it would never end...great work

If you are an above average intelligent, attractive male with strong emotional drives and complicated relationships with women living in contemporary America, well, this is the book is for you. What happenes in True West happens almost daily in my head.

the man's words make you want to read more of his, and then write some of your own...startling, thought-provoking, weird, and most importantly, cathartic, these plays stand as proof that a scriber like Shepard can shake,rattle, and roll like no other playwright around.

My son is an actor and turned me on to Shepard. "Buried Child" is my all-time favorite play. Simply a tour de force on family and how children grow up influenced by the life and dreams of their parents. Spell binding. This volume also includes the stellar plays: "True West" "Curse of the starving class" and "La Turista". Try these for a change of pace from your typical novels!

I cannot even begin to explain how powerfully this big infiltrated my emotional state in my daily life. Highly disturbing, and at times, just about too much for me. Nevertheless, the man is brilliant, and has given me a new found respect for theatre.

Burried Child was as good as it was confusing and twisted! I think that it dove deep into suppressed issues for this tormented family over a deep dark secret they kept silent about for years, until their grandson of whom they havn't seen in over 6 yrs and his girlfriend shows up for a visit and they all go coo coo for a lack of a better vernacular!!
