Another great book from my fave author. Possibly a good one to start with of his as it's not too complicated.

Biological warfare, a redneck sherriff, national intelligence agencies, and the minutiae of day-to-day life in small town Iowa fill the pages of this political satire. A fun "summer red", more accessible than many of Stephenson's book, Cobweb may serve to introduce many readers to the author's works.

Them two manage to create an interesting read, set in an era that is fresh in our minds. The first Gulf war is the object of interest here and possible terrorist activity. The plot itself is rather standard and fairly predictable. The book is however by no means bad. Far from it. I recommend it as an entertainment - don't expect Snow Crash though.

Stephenson, but a bit dumber and still 330 times better than that Dirk Pitt-type crap. 330 times.

Much better than the Manchurian Candidate.

Not Stephenson's best but still a good read. Gotta love lengthy discussions about nose hairs!

The storyline is intriguing and different but nothing amazing. This book didn't keep me hooked, however, what I do love is Stephenson's humourous and elongated descriptions of locations, character profiles, circumstances, etc. Such a unique style!

It's good. More a detective story than some of Stephenson's other works. His stuff is always worth while.
