I have just read all of his books - yes from book 1 - where it all started with good old pug etc. and I love his style of writing. trouble is now that I have read all is that I have to wait until he writes some more!!

First book I read by Raymond Feist. To this day it's my favorite. Stand alone book in the same world as most of his others. Takes place after both the Riftwar Saga series and another stand alone, Prince of the Blood.

Buccaneer takes place 9 years after Prince of the Blood and tells of the coming of age of youngest brother Nicholas who is, like his twin brothers almost a decade earlier, sent on his first royal duty and it turns into a perilous adventure that takes him clear across the world. The prince with a clubbed foot does indeed become a man when a vicious attack leaves scores dead and prisoners taken across the sea. Nicholas and a few other survivors follow in pursuit and discover a hideous plot being formed by a very dangerous and old foe. Once again Feist weaves his colorful characters both familiar and new in a thrilling adventure in exotic locations and with deadly opponents. There is sorcery mixed in with the sword play and while the action is non-stop, story and character development are not sacrificed. And there is also a little romance too. A really fun and imaginative read from master storyteller, Feist.

Like Prince of the Blood, this is not one of his strongest books, but is a must read in order to understand the events between the Riftwar and the Serpentwar. It also deepens the character of Nakor further beyond a simple trickster.

Another classic from Feist, the only ones I havn't enjoyed as much are the ones set on Kelewan joint written with Janny Wurts.

Love Nicolas. Pitty there's NOT another book where he's the main player. BUT also the others, Like Calis and Nakor, great read. One of my favourites

As with Silverthorn, a very average book, giving one the feeling that the only point of it is to set the scenes and characters of the following Serpentwar Saga, which is the series of books following the Riftwar Saga. Slightly entertaining, but hollow and unabsorbing.
