Another spy plot related to the Third Reich revival. The main character, Drew Latham, had his brother killed in an under-covered operation in penetrating the re-emerging Fourth Reich. Being in the Consular Op, Drew decided to take on the enemy almost single-handedly. The ruse threw by the Fourth Reich was exploited to a very good degree by the twist added to the plot development. All in all, the initial suspense is the best build-up, but the second half of the story develops its course along a predictable path.

A big novel with international conspiracy. In spite of the grandeur of the story, I dont think it is a must read. The story does not have a strong build up and finale, something I have been used to. Instead, it has suspense build ups interspersed in the book, but you dont have to wait any longer to find out what is happening. I would say this story gets caught up between action and suspense, ending up not really delivering on any of those.

The first of any Robert Ludlum book i have read... The story though a bit long is chilling and grips one's interest, full of twists and surprises this ones a good book specailly the surpise that is in store for a reader twords the end of the book.

This was the first Ludlum book I've ever read. When I started, I couldn't put it down. Try to imagine the opening scenes of a James Bond movie or any action film, Ludlum does the same only in written form! Awesome! I have to read this again though. The details to me now are quite hazy.

So convoluted and contrived it would have been laughable if it wasn't so painful. And the dialogue. My god, the dialogue. I've read several Robert Ludlum novels and generally think of him as a fine craftsman -- not a literary genius, but certainly readable. This book was a disaster from the get-go. I'm not sure what happened here, but this is Ludlum barely going through the motions.
