one of the dumbest books i've ever read. i've read it because i've have had a choice between reading that book and nibbling the wall; now nibbling of the wall doesn't seem scary to me anymore. did someone find _any_ human being in that book? i've failed. instead i've found bunch of black and white superheroes and antiheroes, all acting like crazy old witches. gods from olympus were much more human than these :) for example, white superhero nicolas knocks out black superhero sergeant, and black antiheroes soldiers are starring at it like cows. it's a pitty we have so much toilet paper in these times; otherwise i'd know the best place for that book.one of the _dumbest_ books i ever read. seriously. there are no men and women in the book, just black and white superheroes and antiheroes. i didn't find any human being. did someone? for example, isn't it funny, when one good superman knocking down bad sergeant and other soldiers just starring? i've found this book funny so i give one star for good mood it affected; however, i won't read any book from this author. never ever.

I liked the premise and characters of Johansen's "Firestorm" better, but she took more time with relationship and character development in this one, which was good. Just felt more of a connection with the characters in "Firestorm," but more of a connection between the characters with this one. However, it was pretty confusing and complex at parts, and the ending was just too abrupt. I actually think I liked "Firestorm" better, so try that one first.

I read this like 10yrs ago or so. I loved it! And have read all of the Iris Johansen books that came after. It is kind of like a series...all of the books can be read seperate from one another but they all have common characters in them from a previous book. They are suspense/mystery books usually with a leading lady. http://www.irisjohansen.com/book_list.html

Decent. I'm not a huge fan of Johansen but she does weave some very interesting tales. The problem is, however, with the storytelling itself. It often comes across as stilted and somewhat bothersome. Nevertheless, another excellent suspense.

this was the first of her books that I read and it kept me so in gross that I didn't but it down until I was finished very good alot of detail.
